TEXAS INSTRUMENTS
The TPS61500EVM-369 is an evaluation module for TPS61500 boost converter IC supporting active and passive components, and five white light emitting diodes in series. The TPS61500 is a monolithic switching regulator with integrated 3A, 40V power switch. It is an ideal driver for high brightness 1W or 3W LED. The device has a wide input voltage range to support application with input voltage from multi cell batteries or regulated 5V, 12V power rails. The LED current is set with an external sensor resistor, and the feedback voltage that is regulated to 200mV by current mode PWM control loop. The device supports analog and pure PWM dimming methods for LED brightness control. Connecting a capacitor to the DIMC pin configures the device to be used for analog dimming, and the LED current varies proportional to the duty cycle of an external PWM signal. 2.9V to 18V input voltage range 3A, 40V internal power switch Four 3W LEDs from 5V input Eight 3W LEDs from 12V input High efficiency power conversion up to 93% Frequency set by external resistor 200KHz to 2.2MHz Programmed soft start Analog and pure PWM brightness dimming This EVM has several WLEDs that shine brightly.
