TEXAS INSTRUMENTS
The ISO71XXDBQ-EVM comes with the ISO7131CCDBQ device soldered down. The user can remove this device and solder down any one of the four channel ISO714XCCDBQ devices. This EVM allows the user to evaluate the isolator performance and parameters. The ISO71xx digital isolators have a logic input and output buffer separated by a silicon dioxide (SiO2) insulation barrier. Used with isolated power supplies, these devices block high voltage, isolate grounds, and prevent noise currents on a data bus or other circuits from entering the local ground and interfering with or damaging sensitive circuitry. A binary input signal is conditioned, translated to a balanced signal, and then differentiated by the capacitive isolation barrier. Across the isolation barrier, a differential comparator receives the logic transition information, then sets or resets a flip flop and the output circuit accordingly. A periodic update pulse is sent across the barrier to ensure the proper dc level of the output. User configurable for use with triple and quad channel ISO71xx isolators Enables opposing channel testing with the ISO7131, ISO7141, and ISO7142 Same direction evaluation can be performed using the ISO7140 User configurable load options for the input and output channels Long Life with SiO2 Isolation Barrier Operates from 2.7V, 3.3V and 5V supply and logic levels 50kV/µs transient immunity, typical 50Mbps (with 5V Supplies) maximum signalling rate For safety reasons the EVM is not designed to work at voltages above 5.5V. The EVM should not be used for high voltage isolation testing. Please observe the cautions described in the EVM users guide.
