TEXAS INSTRUMENTS
The PGA2505EVM is a convenient platform for evaluating the performance and features of the PGA2505. The PGA2505 is a digitally controlled, microphone preamplifier designed for amplifying the output of dynamic and condenser microphones and driving high performance audio analog to digital (A/D) converters. The analog input to the preamplifier is provided differentially at the VIN+ and VIN– inputs. The programmable gain amplifier can be programmed to either unity gain, or adjustable over the full 9dB to 60dB range in 3dB steps. The differential output of the PGA2505 is made available at VOUT+ and VOUT– and gain is controlled using a serial port interface (SPI). The four wire serial port interface is used to program the PGA2505 gain and support functions. A 16bit control word is used to program these functions.
