The TPA2017D2 is an evaluation module for evaluating TPA2017D2 a stereo filter free Class-D audio power amplifier with SmartGain dynamic range compression, automatic gain control, and noise gate. SmartGain functions are configured to automatically prevent distortion of the audio signal and enhance quiet passages that are normally not heard. SmartGain is a combined AGC DRC and Limiter that protects the speaker from damage at high power levels and compress the dynamic range of voice or music to fit within the dynamic range of the speaker. SmartGain DRC, limiter, and noise gate functions can be enabled or disabled. The TPA2017D2 (TPA2017) is capable of driving 1.7W/Ch at 4V or 750mW/Ch at 3.6V into 8Ω load or 2.8W/Ch at 5V or 1.5W/Ch at 3.6V into 4Ω . The device features an enable pin and also provides thermal and short circuit protection. The TPA2017D2RTJEVM is a complete stand alone audio board Filter free Class-D architecture 2.8W/Ch into 4ohm at 5V (10% THD+N) 750mW/Ch into 8ohm at 3.6V (10% THD+N) 2.5V to 5.5V power supply range Programmable smartgain (DRC/AGC) Parameters Simple GPIO Interface for smartgain parameter configuration Small 4mm x 4mm 20 QFN package Its important to operate this EVM within the input voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V and the output range of 0V to 5.5V. Exceeding the specified input voltage range may cause damage to the EVM.
