Economical alternative to costly atomic absorption analysis Use for EPA method 245.1—Manual Cold Vapor Technique An economical alternative to more expensive atomic absorption systems, this mercury analyzing spectrophotometer detects trace levels of mercury in drinking, surface, and saline waters as well as domestic and industrial wastes. Quickly obtain readings—in 30 seconds or less. Operation is simple. After calibration select the desired scale and memory function, then pour 100 ml of prepared sample solution into the sample bottles and turn on the aerator pump. Next, add oxidizing and reducing agents (not included). Then insert the aerator making sure that the stopper provides a good seal. View results on the analog display, or connect a recorder to the 1- to 300-mV output using a 1/4" phone plug. Unit includes two fuses, four 10-ml plastic syringes, 150-mm pathlength flow cell, drying tube, four 300-ml FLEAKER® beakers, bottle rack, bubbler assembly and parts, gas dispersion tube, septum and socket, tubing, 1/4" phone plug connector, and 8-ft power cord with U.S. standard plug.
