Custom design your in-line viscometer system Unaffected by flow, pulsation, and vibration—get dependable readings every time These viscometer systems apply an electromagnetic force to the piston to determine viscosity. Magnetic force on the piston is resisted by the viscous flow of the surrounding fluid. The round-trip travel time of the piston is converted and displayed by the electronic monitor as an accurate viscosity measurement. The piston is the only moving part. Choose a sensor/piston assembly depending on your application and then choose one of the four monitors to continuously display viscosity and temperature. These systems are ideal for use with water and solvent-based coatings, adhesives, emulsions, epoxy, film and paper coatings, food and pharmaceutical products, and polymers and oils.Measure fluid viscosities to 20,000 cp with an accuracy of ±1.5% of reading. All sensors feature an integral RTD probe for continuous temperature monitoring and are FM-approved for use in hazardous areas. Sealless, all stainless steel construction offers superior chemical compatibility. Assemblies include a protective baffle. Assemblies are easy to install and use! Sensor connects directly to a 1-1/4" “T” or to a large line or tank using a 1-1/4" weld ferrule. The sensor is immersed in the flowing fluid enabling it to monitor fluid temperature. Fluid is deflected from the flow stream into a measurement chamber using a cone-and-plate deflector assembly that clips onto the face of the device. Choose your sensor/piston assembly depending on the viscosity range of your application. Sensors include a 15 ft cable; cable lengths up to 500 ft are available—call our Application Specialists for more information. Sanitary TRI-CLOVER ® fittings are available—see our “Fittings” section on pages 261 to 297. Optional calibration kits contain one pint of viscosity standard and a temperature calibration sheet.
