Programmable Oscillators SMT Linear Technology’s silicon oscillators are solid state clocks that operate over a range of frequencies. The silicon-based oscillator frequency can be programmed via pin-strapping, resistor connection, or serial interface (SPI or I2C). Applications where they can be used would be an application specific integrated circuit (ASICS), microprocessor, UARTS and programmable gain amplifier (PGA). The switching regulator clocks offer synchronization and EMI reduction. Linear Technology’s TimerBlox timing devices are used in Voltage-Controlled Oscillation (VCO), Low Frequency Clocking, Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM), One-Shot Generation and Signal Delay and Power-On Reset (POR).The TimerBlox incorporates a programmable oscillator, no additional parts are necessary. The source and sink capability allows the TimerBlox to drive an opto-isolator and transformer.
