SCALANCE XR500 The SCALANCE XR-500 switches are ideal for use in industrial networks and for integrating the industrial network into an existing corporate network. From the control level to the management level, the switch handles the networking of plant sections as well as distributed field devices and ensures high plant availability with extensive diagnostics options and high transmission speeds. Thanks to Layer 3 switching function, the network can be established specially for the relevant application, or adapted and expanded at any time. The SCALANCE XR-500 switches are suitable for establishing electrical and optical Industrial Ethernet line, star or ring topologies. Four integral SFP+ slots that can be equipped with SFP+ plug-in transceivers (10 Gbit/s) or SFP plug-in transceivers (1000 Mbit/s). Up to 12 media module slots can be equipped with electrical and/or optical 4-port media modules for 10/100/1000 Mbit/s, 7 different media module types are available including a SFP host module for even higher flexibility. Thanks to data transfer rates of up to 10 Gbit/s, the switches can be used as an Industrial Ethernet backbone switch and as a hub in the plant bus (redundant connection possible).Each SCALANCE XR-500 includes the C-Plug memory disk, which allows that switches can be exchanged without a programming device. The configuration or application data are secured on the C-PLUG and can be implemented in another SCALANCE XR-500 switch without special know how.The SCALANCE XR-500 are available in 2 different versions with up to 28 or 52 electrical and optical Ethernet ports.
