Maxim audio ICs have different types of amplification from Class AB, Class D and Class G. Maxim Integrated Class AB speaker amplifier is ideal for high-fidelity products such as a speaker driver, digital cameras, e-readers, tablets and portable media players. The DirectDrive® technology headphone amplifier gives enhanced audio quality there is no necessity for a DC blocking capacitor that standard headphone amps require. Also the Class D amplifier features high wideband jitter tolerance; low output offset voltage and low THD+N. The speaker amp has a patented spread spectrum modulation meaning that the technology helps minimise EMI emissions. The input signal is small but the output can be a high wattage. The audio ICs can offer a lot of power in a small package.
