Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is one of the most abundant protein in serum with normal levels between 8-17 mg/ml in adult blood. IgG is important for our defense against microorganisms and the molecules are produced by B-lymphocytes as a part of our adaptive immune response. The IgG molecule has two separate functions: to bind to the pathogen that elicited the response and to recruit other cells and molecules to destroy the antigen. The variability of the IgG pool is generated by somatic recombination and the number of specificities in an individual at a given time point is estimated to be 1011 variants. Electron Microscopy: Use at an assay dependent dilution. ELISA: Use at a dilution of 1/8000 - 1/34000. WB: Use at an assay dependent dilution. This product has been assayed against 1.0 g of Rabbit IgG in a standard capture ELISA using ABTS (2, 2'-azino-bis-[3-ethylbenthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]) as a substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature. A working dilution of 1/8000 to 1/34000 is suggested for this product. Suitable for other peroxidase-antibody-based enzymatic assays requiring extremely low background levels, absence of F(c) mediated binding, lot-to-lot consistency, high titer and specificity. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
