ACE C18-PFP uses a proprietary bonding and end-capping process to produce a very rugged and robust octadecyl-pentafluorophenyl (C18-PFP) single phase. ACE columns are manufactured using ultra-pure based-deactivated silica that has extremely low silanol activity. This ultra-pure silica is efficiently bonded and exhaustively end-capped using proprietary technology. The result is silica based stationary phase that has virtually eliminated the negative effects of silanols on chromatographic separations. The ACE C18-PFP offers multiple types of analyte-stationary phase interactions (hydrophobic, pi-pi, dipole-dipole, and hydrogen bonding) to deliver unique selectivity, complementary to that of the ACE C18-AR. The ultra-inert characteristics of the ACE C18-PFP Columns make them the ideal choice for separating analytes that differ in hydrophobicity, electron-rich analytes with electron delocalization and electron donating groups (i.e. phenols, aromatic ehters, and amines). Recommended applications for sterioisomers, steroids, taxanes, substituted aromatics, and nucleosides. ACE columns consistently produce measurably better peak shape and column efficiency when separating troublesome compounds. ACE C18-PFP is also compatible with 100% Aqueous mobile phases for enhanced retention in reversed phase mode. ACE C18-PFP is available in 3 micron and 5 micron particles sizes. ACE C18-PFP has a surface area of 300 m2/g and a carbon load of 14.3%. ACE C18-PFP has a recommended pH range of 2-8; working outside these ranges will reduce column lifetime. ACE C18-PFP is also available for UHPLC applications under the brand name ACE EXCEL C18-PFP 2 micron UHPLC columns.
