Moisture sensors for Arduino, type Funduino 3006. For measuring apparent moisture (e. of the skin, or in the floor). Both sensor contacts are connected to a voltage, i.e. an increasing moisture between the contacts proportionally increases the current flow between the contacts. This value is prepared electronically in the sensor and then transmitted as analog signal to an analog input of the board. Since the board, as explained in the previous tutorials, cannot measure the electrical voltage as such, it converts the input value at the analog pin into a numerical value. 0 to 12 V is equivalent to a numerical value from 0 to 1023 (1024 values, because the zero counts as first value).
