The DRV8881PEVM is a DRV8881P dual H-bridge stepper or dual brushed DC motor driver evaluation module. The DRV8881P customer EVM is a platform revolving around the DRV8881P, a medium-voltage, dual Hbridge driver and highly-configurable power stage. It can drive either a stepper motor or dual brushed DC motor with a PWM control interface. Also aimed at 24V motors, this device supports slow, fast and mixed decay settings to tune the motors' performance. The EVM is a high-performance, power-efficient, cost-effective platform that speeds development. The EVM houses a MSP430 microcontroller and an USB interface chip. The USB chip allows for serial communications from a PC computer where a Microsoft Windows application is used to schedule serial commands. These commands can be used to control each of the device’s signals and drive the motor or motors at the desired rate. Applications include currency handling machines, video security cameras, printers, scanners and factory automation.
